Thank you to everyone who attended the 2nd Annual Vision Users Conference.VisionUC2023_Group.jpg

The learning and sharing among broadband providers and industry partners was incredible! Attendees took a deeper dive into Vision software, shared best practices for growing their networks, and much more.

The Fibersmith team welcomed everyone to our hometown of Columbia, Missouri. On Monday, June 5, we made introductions at The Roof at The Broadway Hotel. Special thanks to Power & Tel for sponsoring our welcome reception!  The Broadway shows off Columbia views at their finest and it was a great kickoff to the conference.

IMG_5730.jpgThe conference kicked off on Tuesday, June 6, at Kimball Ballroom at Stephens College with an update on the 2023-2024 Vision development roadmap from Fibersmith CIO Josh Johnson. A virtual interview with Tom Cecere of GWI-Vermont outlined how growing ISPs can "cross the chasm" and help both their employees and customers adopt big changes in today's explosive broadband market. IMG_5736.jpg

Lunch on Tuesday was sponsored by Nokia. After the meal, attendees spent time with exhibiting vendors, which included representatives from Adtran, Alianza, Calix, DZS, Graybar, IPpay, Power & Tel, Millennium and Nokia

On Tuesday afternoon, attendees split into breakout groups where they were able to dive into specific components of the software and share ideas and best practices with other providers. Sessions covered topics such as plant records, online signups, and improving fiber delivery and efficiency

VisionUC_TuesDinner.jpgDinner on Tuesday was served at Irene's BBQ and sponsored by MKY Ventures. In addition to delicious tacos and lively conversation, we enjoyed a fun evening and some friendly competition at Witches and Wizards arcade next door. It was a lot of fun!

After dinner, a group of attendees helped stop a burning fire at nearby Walt's Bike Shop. As the group was walking by, they noticed smoke and flames coming out of a column in front of the building. Thanks to their quick call to emergency authorities and the use of shoes and water bottles, the fire wasVisionUC_Fire.JPG quickly put out with minimal damage to the building and a heartfelt thanks from the shop's local owners!

The conference resumed on Wednesday, with more breakout groups being held on improvements with workflows, increasing subscriber take rates, network modeling strategies, and call center management. Vision's newest light level monitoring tools were also debuted, and representatives from both the Vision and Fibersmith Engineering teams were available for one-on-one support assistance.

IMG_5788.jpgThe conference concluded with dinner on Wednesday evening at Room 38 Restaurant & Lounge. It was a beautiful evening on the patio in downtown Columbia, which made it even tougher to bring all the productive conversations from the week to a close.

We really enjoyed being part of all the lively conversations throughout the week. Our hope is that all of our customers and industry partners who attended benefited with key takeaways and immediate action items. Our team continues to gather and review attendees' "Top 10 Lists," which gave them the opportunity to share their top wishes/needs for the future of Vision. We are always listening and look forward to the improvements that come out of this year's conference!IMG_5795.jpg

See everyone again in June '24 for another cycle of learning!
